Blur Faces in Photos Online, Free

Blur faces automatically, or draw a region to blur license plates, text, screens, and bystanders. Gaussian blur, pixelate, or solid black fill. No account, no watermark, and the full-resolution download is free.

Upload a JPG, PNG, WebP, or GIF. Faces are detected automatically; draw rectangles over anything else you want hidden. Free, no account required, files deleted after 1 hour. Works on your phone too.

JPG PNG WebP GIF

Auto-detects faces. Draw regions to blur anything.

Blur style

Most secure: Solid black. Gaussian and pixelate blur can be reversed by AI; solid black cannot.

How It Works

1

Upload your image and pick a style

JPG, PNG, WebP, or GIF up to 25MB. Drag and drop or click to browse. Choose Gaussian blur, pixelate, or solid black fill, and whether to export the original format, PNG, or JPG.

2

Draw regions or let it auto-detect faces

With auto-detect on, a face detection model finds and blurs every face. Draw rectangles over anything else you want hidden: license plates, on-screen text, addresses, or bystanders. Both work together in one job, and it all runs server-side, so it works on your phone too. Want the details? Learn how VidClean works technically.

3

Download your blurred image

Ready in seconds, at full resolution, as the original format, PNG, or JPG. No watermark, no account, files deleted after 1 hour.

When to use solid fill vs blur

Here is the honest version. Gaussian blur and pixelation both look private, but they only scramble the original pixels rather than remove them. Researchers have shown that AI models can partially reconstruct a blurred or pixelated face, license plate, or block of text, especially when the blur is light. If someone really wants what is under there, blur is not a guarantee.

Solid black fill is different. It replaces the pixels with black, so there is nothing left to recover. It cannot be reversed. Use Gaussian or pixelate when you want a softer look and the content is not truly sensitive. Use solid black for anything that would cause real harm if exposed: faces of minors, home addresses, ID numbers, medical details, or full license plates.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about blurring faces and objects.

Are my images stored? expand_more

No. Images are processed on a private server and automatically deleted 1 hour after the job finishes. We never view, share, train on, or store your content.

Is Gaussian blur really reversible by AI? expand_more

Yes, in some cases. Gaussian blur and pixelation keep a mathematical trace of the original pixels, and AI models have been shown to partially reconstruct blurred or pixelated faces and text. For anything truly sensitive, choose the solid black fill, which replaces the pixels entirely and cannot be reversed.

Can I blur license plates and text, not just faces? expand_more

Yes. Draw one or more rectangles over anything you want hidden: license plates, screen content, addresses, bystanders, or on-screen text. Each region is blurred with the style you pick, and you can combine drawn regions with automatic face detection in one job.

What image formats are supported? expand_more

JPG, PNG, WebP, and GIF up to 25MB per image. You can keep the original format or export as PNG or JPG. Animated GIFs are processed as their first frame.
