How to edit a video with its transcript
Upload your video

Read the edit
The transcript sits next to the player. Click any word and the player jumps to that moment. Looking for one line? Use Find in transcript.
Select and cut
Drag across a sentence, a false start, or a repeated take, then choose Cut selection. The footage under those words is removed from your edit.
Check it and export
Play the tightened cut. If something went too far, click the struck words to restore them. Export renders an MP4 with no watermark. Free exports go up to 720p, and Pro unlocks higher resolutions.
What you can do from the transcript
Cut sentences and retakes
Select any run of words and cut it. Rambling intros, repeated takes, and off-topic tangents come out as fast as you can read them.
Remove silences in one pass
Remove silences finds the pauses and shows every cut before it applies, so you stay in control of the pacing.
Remove filler words in English
In English speech, um, uh, er, ah, and hmm are found for you. Review them, then remove them together. In other languages, select the fillers and cut them yourself.
Fix the captions
Captions come from the same transcript. Correct any line, and your correction is what gets burned into the export.
Undo any cut
Cut words stay visible, struck through. Click one to restore it, or use Undo.
Languages and your files
The editor's interface is in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. Transcription covers many spoken languages, including English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, and Dutch, so cutting by text works in all of them. Automatic filler-word detection is English only.
Free projects keep your footage for 7 days from your last edit. Exports made without an account are deleted about 90 minutes after they finish, so download yours right away. Your files are never used to train AI models. The details are in our privacy policy.
Why edit by text
Scrubbing a timeline to find where a sentence starts is slow. Reading is fast. When the edit lives in the transcript, you find the weak line by skimming, cut it like a typo, and move on. For talking-head videos, podcasts, interviews, and tutorials, where most of the work is deciding what to keep, it is the quickest way to a clean cut.
