What it does

Gling watches talking-head footage and cuts out the silence, the stumbles and the takes you abandoned halfway through, aiming squarely at the YouTube edit rather than at podcasting. What separates it from a pure silence remover is that it also tries to identify a bad take, which is a judgement call rather than a threshold, so its output wants reviewing before you commit. It runs on the desktop rather than in a browser. The result can be exported onward to a real editor, so it functions as a first pass and not as the whole edit.
